Why the name Catnip Herb ?

When we opened in 2008 we were looking for a name that was also lightly,somehow connected to the charm and history that leads Triora to be known as “The Land of Witches” all without using the word “Witch.”

Two friends helped us by bringing us not only the name but also the logo.

Catnip or nepeta cataria is a wild herb that has aphrodisiac and stimulating powers toward all felines…. plus it is said to have been used as a bookmark in old grimoires (this we believe is legend) …

At the entrance to the historic center

On the Piazzetta della Strega.
It is a place designed to bring you to taste typical and revised dishes,to discover the flavors and products of the territory,accompanied by fine wines or craft beers.
Two cozy indoor rooms,the menu written on blackboards ,wooden tables is a family service.
In the summer time the outdoor terrace with the dehor with a splendid view of the valley.

The best local ingredients

An area rich and generous with many raw materials, extra virgin olive oil from Taggiasche olives, the Bread of Triora, wine,beans, saffron, herbs mushrooms and cheeses.and local productions of absolute excellence.

Ligurian wines are not many, the result of a difficult land to cultivate, but the vine knows how to adapt and steal space….

Our Team

Two friends with a common goal and passion: the enjoyment of good food and drink. These are the primary characteristics that convinced us to embark on a new journey,a new adventure, giving birth to Erba Gatta wine and cuisine in Triora.

Since April 2008 Gianni in the kitchen and Carla in the dining room, met during a joint work experience. Close-knit, different but both enthusiastic and passionate about their work. Our adventure was joined by Diana, Ahmed, Shara and Olek serious guys and excellent collaborators who with us today form the staff of Erba Gatta.

Not forgetting over the years Bob,Tina,Cristina,Kofi,Lal, Miky, Me in the,Federico, Giorgiana, Andrea, Irina and Vanessa and those who even for one day were part of our world.
