Saffron from Triora

Saffron—here’s another precious treasure for those of us who seek out and use as much as possible the products that our region, together with the people who produce them, has to offer.

Today we’re talking about Triora saffron, and about two young people, Barbara and Daniele—a couple in real life and the owners of the beautiful agritourism property“Il Poggio di Maro” in Badalucco.

Two enthusiastic young people, driven by passion and love for their region.

With dedication and joy, they work the land to make it as productive as possible through authentic, organic farming.

A dream come true, a challenge now won: bringing farming back to the Trioresi hills.

As recorded in the ancient municipal statutes, it was already being cultivated in the 14th century.

The product is certified as “Superior Quality” thanks to the type of soil and the way it is cultivated and cared for.

It is a spice with an intense aroma and a red color that takes on golden hues when used.

Numenrose is said to have many properties and a wide variety of uses.

We offer a dessert called“La Crema Fredda allo Zafferano di Triora” (Triora Saffron Cold Cream), served with a cookie that is also typical of Triora.

Thanks to Daniele and Barbara
